Get Ready for Philly’s Cheesesteak Fest, Round 3!
One month from today—on Saturday, September 23rd, starting at 12:30 PM—cheesesteak fanatics and foodies from all walks of life will gather for the 3rd Annual Cheesesteak & Food Fest. Where? Where else but in South Philly, just blocks from where our favorite culinary sensation was created nearly 90 years ago.
To be precise, this year’s festivities will take place once again down at Citizen’s Bank Park, home of the Phillies.
The centerpiece of the event is, of course, the Vendor Area, where dozens of cheesesteak makers and Philly specialty food vendors will be serving up samples to a few thousand carnivores (and maybe a few herbivores, too, as the organizers promise vegetarian-friendly options).
Original Philly will once again be center stage. We’re proud to have been the sponsor of the coveted Fest Vendor Area since its inception, and we’re excited to be back for our the third consecutive year. We won’t be hard to find—just look for our infamous ‘steak-shaped logo, our tents and signs just inside the entrance gate, and lots of hungry “consumers.” (Don’t panic if our line seems long—we keep it moving!)
Some of our hometown’s most beloved cheesesteak shops will be showing off their wares, many featuring Original Philly beef and chicken products in the center of their creations.
And since variety is the spice of life, we’ll be showcasing a few of the most popular Original Philly cheesesteak appetizers: cheesesteak egg rolls, cheesesteak sliders, and cheesesteak spring rolls.
In addition to delicious local eats, there’s the Craft Beer Garden (for guests 21 and up, naturally), live music, a cheesesteak eating competition, and kid-friendly fun, too—including a carnival area and opportunities to walk the bases on the Phils’ field.
Oh, and did we mention there were over 40 vendors serving tons of cheesesteak samples, from the traditional to the adventurous?!
Attendance has grown from year to year, and we’re expecting record crowds next month, so don’t wait too long to make your plans. You can buy tickets through the Phillies’ website or get more info at the Fest’s website.
Can’t wait to see you there. Tell your friends, and Prepare to Feast!
